I don’t know enough about the formalities of the ghazal, but this is a powerfully evocative and haunting poem that seems to speak from a rich and complex culture.
thanks, Dick! I’m just starting out with the ghazal. The form itself seems to impose coherence almost despite the writer, is what I think so far.
