I want someone to give me a framed print of this for my birthday. More about artist Niki de Saint Phalle here and here.
“In 1966, she collaborated with fellow artist Jean Tinguely and Per Olof Ultvedt on a large-scale sculpture installation, “hon – en katedral” (“she – a cathedral”), for Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Sweden. The outer form of “hon” is a giant, reclining Nana, whose internal environment is entered from between her legs. The piece elicited immense public reaction in magazines and newspapers throughout the world.”
I just received the following message from Charles Alexander. Also, see Otoliths Press by Mark Young. In his latest mail he was saying he is forced to shut down.
Hi all,
As many of you know through individual letters and emails, Chax is in a big push to bring in needed funds, not only to make it “through” this current sometimes troubling period, but beyond, with ambitious plans to do more than we’ve ever done before, and to do it better. I don’t want to make the pitch right here on poetics, but I hope you will all visit an event site created for this purpose on facebook, at
http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php#/event.php?eid=99709892577&ref=ts
or read the message on my blog, at
http://chax.org/blog.htm
and consider what is there (follow links if needed to get to the heart of the message).
And if none of that, go to our main site at http://chax.org and buy 1 book (or 2 or more).
Thank you!
Charles

I am also adding this note to insert my URL, which I did not do before.
Thanks for posting, Anny – good to see you here. Best, N
