We’re not sure why Online University Reviews has a top 100 poetry blogs list, or what criteria applied in its compilation, but we’re on it with a bunch of very cool poetry blogs, so who’s complaining. (That’s Ms Nic Sebastian though, Online University Reviews.)
They did the same thing for nature blogs a while back. I’ve decided it’s probably just a very clever way to get bloggers to link to their site and thus improve their Google PageRank and so forth. However, they do put a lot of research into the choices – someone spent at least a day compiling each list, I’d say. And arguably such lists of online resources are relevant to their mission of helping online students.
Congrats! That’s very neat.
Except for the getting-your-gender-wrong bit.
Neat list. Thanks for posting it. A couple of new ones for me.
But there are only 99 listed as C Dale Young is listed twice, #33 and #34!
Thanks, Dave — I’ll sit down and be quiet, then!
Aditi, Vicky — thanks for stopping by.
Yay, Nic, we’re in good company! Congratulations, Ms.
Congrats to you too!
Yes, congratulations #41, from #72.
I actually had the same thought as Dave Bonta – pretty much right off the bat. (I didn’t know about it until I saw someone linking to my site via the Stats page.) The effort looks suspiciously like ingeniously conceived SPAM meant to appeal to our vanity. Sheer genius, really. Poets are notoriously flatterable. And online university (whatever that is) get oodles of free advertising.
Be that as it may, I’ve been trying to say hello to everyone else on the ranking. So that , even if it’s brilliantly executed SPAM, I can make something good of it.
Hello!
@upinvermont, I like the way you think.
That’s a healthy attitude! Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by.
